Bio Claire Staebler

Before taking over the position of director at Frac Pays de la Loire in Nantes and Carquefou in 2022, Claire Staebler was curator at Fondation Louis Vuitton from 2012 to 2022 where she participated to the exhibitions and live events program and co-created the program OPEN SPACE in 2018. She was in charge of several site specific commissions including Olafur Eliasson, Florian Hecker and Katharina Grosse among others.

Previously she worked at Palais de Tokyo, Paris, from 2004 to 2007, and at PinchukArtCentre, Kiev, from 2007 to 2009. She was one of the associate curators of the 2012 La Triennale, Intense Proximity (artistic director: Okwui Enwezor). Independently, in 2006 she was co-curator of the Busan Biennial. Between 2008 and 2009 she curated, with Jelena Vesic, the project “No More Reality, crowd, performance and reenactment”, in Belgrade, Amsterdam and Istanbul. In 2019 she was guest curator at Appartement 22 in Rabat. In 2011, she curated the exhibitions La Fabrique sonore, Expérience Pommery#9 (Reims). She contributes regularly to several publications specialized in contemporary art
