«Shifting Identities»

Daria de Beauvais (senior curator, Palais de Tokyo) in discussion with Jakob Lena Knebl (artist) on the occasion of her exhibition «Doppelganger!» at Palais de Tokyo, in a duo show with Ashley Hans Scheirl.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 20TH, 5PM

«Shifting Identities»

Jakob Lena Knebl’s work is inspired by art history and popular culture, exploring the co-constructions and transformations of identities - through fashion, design, music, scenography and architecture - creating «spaces of desire» in her words. The artist talks to Daria de Beauvais about her sources of inspiration and her obsessions; her multifaceted practice (installation, sculpture, photography, performance) both political and humorous; and her desire to hybridize and democratize the exhibition space.
