Viscose : Fashion Sensorium

“Fashion Sensorium”
Viscose Issue 07: SCENT + 08: SOUND
Featuring Stora Skuggan (SE) & Tanat Teeradakorn (TH)

Friday, October 24th at 5.30pm.

Join Viscose and CHERUBY for a curated evening of dematerialized fashion: style reduced to mere sound and scent. At the occasion of the global launch of Viscose’s 8th issue on SOUND, and the reprinting of its much-lauded 7th issue on SCENT, CHERUBY invites for an evening of sensorial appreciation of fashion’s most immaterial realms.

Tune into newly commissioned sonic style works by Thai multimedia artist Tanat Teeradakorn and indulge in the molecular subtleties in Swedish scent collective Stora Skuggan and their much-anticipated new scent—inspired by a mythical flower shrouded in countless conspiracy theories amongst biologists. Learn about Viscose’s deep research into fashion’s perfume and music cultures, and secure your copies of rare past Viscose issues.

Hosted by Viscose editor-in-chief Jeppe Ugelvig and CHERUBY founder Cherry Xu.

Viscose is a journal and institute devoted to fashion research and criticism. Founded between Copenhagen and New York in 2021 by Jeppe Ugelvig, the irregular periodical publishes critical writing and research projects by a wide range of authors from the worlds of art, fashion, literature, and academia. Through specially edited thematic issues conceived in partnerships with institutions and art museums around the world, Viscose gives space to projects that challenge and expand the possibilities of research, practice, and critique of fashion. Its 8th issue is co-edited with Bill Kouligas, Stacy Skolnik and Thomas Laparade, and co-published by New York-based Montez Press Radio.

CHERUBY is a forward-thinking arts and cultural organisation dedicated to fostering creative production at the intersection of art and fashion. Based in Shanghai, it nurtures the city’s vibrant cultural ecosystem through a year-round programming of residencies, exhibitions and public programmes. With a rigorous and experimental approach, CHERUBY collaborates with organisations, practitioners and researchers to drive cross-disciplinary exchange and cultural production locally and internationally. CHERUBY will launch its physical space in Shanghai on 8 November with Mexico City-based artist Bárbara Sánchez-Kane’s exhibition. Tanat Teeradakorn will be in residence in 2026.

Event to be held on Level 0.
