Guglielmo Castelli: Sweet Baby Motel

Talk + Book launch
Guglielmo Castelli: Sweet Baby Motel, Curated by Edoardo Bonaspetti with Guglielmo Castelli and Milovan Farronato (Curator)
Level 3

Monday, April 20th at 12:30pm.

The talk takes as its starting point Sweet Baby Motel, the first comprehensive monograph devoted to Guglielmo Castelli’s artistic practice, published by Lenz on the occasion of the exhibitions at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and Kunsthalle Wien. Building on this publishing project, the discussion explores the book’s structure as a narrative device, offering an in-depth look at the artist’s work and the dynamics that shape his practice

Edoardo Bonaspetti – Curator
Edoardo Bonaspetti is the founder and co-director of Ordet, a nonprofit space for contemporary art in Milan, artistic director of the Henraux Foundation, and co-director of the publishing house Lenz.

Guglielmo Castelli – Artist
Guglielmo Castelli (b. 1987, Turin) lives and works in Turin. His iconographic universe investigates the relationship between interiority and external space, in dialogue with literature and theater. Fluid figures overlap in suspended environments, blurring the boundaries between subject and object. Dense and evocative brushstrokes convey emotional states such as melancholy, amazement, and wonder.

Milovan Farronato – Curator
Milovan Farronato is an independent curator. Drawn to hybrid forms, hypertrophic artists, and eccentric stories, he works through stratifications and “short circuits,” intertwining art, fashion, and literature. He lives in Milan and considers curating an exercise in listening and imagination.
