The work investigates the ontology of gay literature. It creates a timeline through the use of teacups engraved with excerpts from homoerotic poems, letters and novels from different eras spanning over 2500 years. The timeline attempts to make the too often concealed history transparent with the teacups acting as the disclosers. The teacup is an intimate object in the sense that it nourishes the drinker through a communion with the drinker’s lips. The act of nourishment transforms into a deeper sensual experience when the drinker’s lips encounter the homoerotic verses that give testament to the presence of the gay radical other throughout the ages.
