Flo’s oversized soft leather sculpture “Sprout” (2018) further explores the themes of her works “Basic Pride”(2017) and “Startup”(2018). Here the artist is examining the early stages of a plant’s development, linking them in her work with the emerging startup scene in Estonia. The blown-up proportions of the sprout hint at the significance placed on the new tech businesses in contemporary economies and their image as infants that need to be nurtured by society.
