INÈS DI FOLCO JEMNI

Born in Paris in 1993, Inès Di Folco Jemni (lives and works in Paris) is a Franco-Tunisian artist. She graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2018. She won the Sitel Prize at Jeune Création and the Because of Many Suns Prize at the Art-O-Rama fair in 2022, and the Monde Nouveaux grant in 2023.
Recent solo and group exhibitions include: Magasins Généraux (Pantin), NADA (Miami), Deli Gallery (New York | Mexico), Laurel Gitlen (New-York), Art-O-Rama (Marseille), Crève Cœur (Paris), Anne de Villepoix (Paris), agnès b. Hors les Murs (Paris), Corvée (Paris), FRAC Lorraine (Metz), Friche Belle-de-Mai (Marseille), Drawing a Blank (London/Paris), Scheusal (Berlin), and SISSI club (Marseille).
Di Folco Jemni has held residencies at the Magasins Généraux (Pantin), Alkinois (Athens) and Château de la Haute-Borde (Rilly-sur-Loire). Her works are in the collections of FRAC Île-de-France (Paris | Romainville), FRAC Sud (Marseille), FCAC (Marseille), Collezione Taurisano (Naples).
She is represented by SISSI club (Marseille).
For Paris Internationale 2024, SISSI club presents a solo exhibition entitled “Cantou” by Franco-Tunisian artist Inès Di Folco Jemni (Paris, FR). It brings together new productions celebrating fire, night and their mysterious energies.
Playing on the sound and meaning of the “Cantou”, the Occitan fireplace, and the “Kanoun” from ancient Kabyle architecture, the artist pays tribute to her designated origins, and invokes a range of literary, musical and spiritual references.
