Hi… :-)
Our names are Kamila and Marcelina, we created Turnus when we were art students - as an artistic and curatorial group -
at the beginning of 2020. It basically came from our need to do something and be able to join the art world on our terms.
Our practice is focused on togetherness - we believe that art thrives in social and playful settings - that’s why our gallery
is located above the cafe, where amazing events are happening everyday, from chess tournaments to poetry readings, with bingo and cartoon screenings. The main focus of Turnus is exploring different ways of collaboration, by connecting artists and their practices, in every form we can think of - because the goal is to try how our world would be without the idols…
We exhibited dozens of photographers on a big table in a park, builded walls to fit more people in our gallery on Wolska and created sculptures that were literal platforms for other artworks. This time we would like to invite You for a walk around parks, parkings and squares, a beautiful sight recalled by Ant Łakomsk and Piotrek Kowalski.

Tomasz Tofilski b. 1997, Kraków, Poland. Tofilski’s artistic practice is grounded in observation, digital print and photo manipulation. Through capturing photographs in spontaneous situations and later juxtaposing such scenes, he creates narratives that explore the nature of images from an everyday, habitual point of view. He explores the concept of what is a universal, visual language also through experiments in display, mixing glossy prints stuck on stapled cardboard and wooden frames sealed in with varnish. Lives in Warsaw.
Zuzanna Bartoszek b. 1993, Poznań, Poland. Artist, poet. Her works have been exhibited at Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Cell Project Space in London, Kunsthalle in Zurich, Gaylord in Los Angeles, among others. In September 2021 she received the ING Polish Art Foundation Prize for her solo show at Stereo Gallery. Her third book is going to be published by Hela Press in December 2025. She is a recipient of Rijksakademie residency in 2026. Lives in Berlin.

For Paris Internationale 2025, Turnus would like to propose a presentation of two contemporary artists Zuzanna Bartoszek and Tomek Tofilski inspired by lost hopes, catching up with reality, blind luck and 24/7 gambling.
The presentation focuses on highlighting the randomness of our everyday life and the need to believe in the existence of fortunate accidents. Scratch cards, slot machines, roulettes. Analysing their identities and possibilities, the artists take us into their world of everyday gambling and hustling, in which the stakes are high, but the risk is sometimes the only hope.
Tomek Tofilski, who photographs scraps of everyday life, often from the perspective of a piece of paper lost somewhere along the way, which has fallen out of his pocket and the wind carries it away to unknown corners of blind alleys, public toilets and bars.
Bartoszek’s practice includes oil painting, drawing, poetry, and performance. She explores contemporary concerns through a lens of historical styles. Her paintings and self-portraits in the booth are accompanied by writings, adding a textual layer to the narrative of self-image deconstruction.
